August Already!

Hello! It is August 7th already and my last chance to write to you from home before we return to B.C. It has certainly been an eventful summer. July 29th I had my 5th Chemotherapy treatment in Edmonton and this one was the most demanding so far. We returned to Clyde in time for my treatment and I had my first week here at home. Bob helped out with the Clyde Church's Day Camp for kids under grade 6. We were able to attend the Clyde Family Camp and God provided beautiful weather and a warm, caring atmosphere praising the Lord together at Camp Wakamao from Friday, August 5-Sunday, August 7th. It was a special time and so good to be back home briefly. By now I am feeling very well again, ready to leave for B.C. once again to complete our summer service there. It is still unclear where the August 19th Chemo treatment will be - here or in B.C. but that will be #6 and a CT Scan will be done on August 30th to check out progress once again. I would like to thank you so much for your prayers and concern. There are also others I would like you to remember: John Wilson, Professor at Alberta Bible College in Calgary, Alberta - Pam Tarlton - Bob's sister Janet. All suffering from forms of cancer. The Cross Cancer Hospital in Edmonton - only a 1 hour drive for us - treats 500 patients per day with this terrible disease. What a tremendous service they provide! There a hundreds of volunteers there also who are "giving back" for themselves ofrfamily members and a very warm and caring atmospere is so evident there. Thinking of so many suffering with cancer world wide. I would like to encourage you to reach out
to God for comfort and consolation in the midst of the uncertainty and fear created by this disease. He will always be there to answer your call for help. He has promised to be there for us and He keeps His promises.
At the camp in B.C. we have no computer or internet but I will do my best to get some messages out soon.
Here's a message to hold near to your heart: "So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand." Isaiah 41:10

Getting Started!! June14/05

Hi! I'm finally getting started with some help from husband Bob. I am a bit computerly challenged. But I have a desire to share with others, especially those who are riding these same rails with the Cancer Challenge. I'm starting off with a poem:
My Name Is Pat And I'm Riding The Rails:
I'm riding the rails; don't know where I'm going however, I hope my faith in God's showing.
I'm hanging on tight and taking each curve, leaning on God to take what cancer may serve.
Dear stranger, who's on this very same road I write to encourage you, help lighten your load.
Reach out of the darkness; He's there in the light and oh, so ready to help with your fight.
A Postal code He'll not require ; " Knee mails" the best and He'll quickly inspire.
To turn thoughts from yourself and do for another - oft from your couch for a dear friend or brother.
Or maybe your problems are far off from that; maybe your life has developed a flat!
Trust Him with today and never give up; His peace He will give you with what fills your cup.
One day at a time just walk with God's Son; our choice to make it a bad or good one.
P.W
I am feeling very well this past week and have my 3rd Chemo treatment this Friday - June l7th.
On the 23rd a CT Scan to check on progress - all this at the Cross Cancer Hospital in Edmonton.
God be with you, Love, Pat

In For God's Ride

Hi! This is Pat Williams writing to say that I want to use this time since I have embarked on a new ride in life; a new adventure. I have been riding the rails with God for so many years but now I am on a new journey with cancer as a passenger.
